WHAT IS PERMACULTURE?
Permaculture is an ecological design process - we are learning from nature. Design methods are used in conjunction with permaculture principles to create an overall pattern or plan of action.
A good design helps us to make best use of the available resources and create a more productive system that meets more of our needs and creates less pollution.
There are also many methods for social change, organisational development and community engagement that we can use to help groups work together and collectively plan for changes. Working with people is just as important in permaculture as working with plants (which are much easier!)

RULES OF PERMACULTURE
1Observer and interact "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
2Catch and store Energy "Make hay while the sun shines"
3Obtain a Yield "You can't work on an empty stomach"
4Apply self regulation and accept feedback "We reap what we sow"
5Use and value renewable resources and services "Let Nature take its course"
6Produce no waste "Waste not want not", "A stitch in time saves nine"
7Design  from patterns to detail "can't see the woods for the trees"
8. Integrate rather than Segregate "Many hands make light work"
9.  Use Small and slow solution "The bigger they are the harder they fall", "Slow and steady wins the race"
10. Use and value diversity "Don't put all your eggs in one basket"
11. Use edges and value the marginal "Dont' think you are on the right track just because it is a well beaten path"
12. Creatively use and respond to change "Vision is not seeing things as they are, but as they will be"
